Jack Frost January in Banbury

Watch out – Jack Frost has arrived in Banbury! January burst into life with a flurry of creativity, colour, and plenty of sparkle. It was time to bring out the glittery art, and while we joke that the secret to fun is eating glitter for breakfast (ha ha!), there’s no doubt we had an amazing time.

So what happened during the activity session? A series of playful sketches of Jack Frost – and even Jackie Frost (ha ha!) – were prepared in advance. Residents then jumped right in, splashing blue and white paint onto their canvases. Soon, lively Jack Frost figures appeared, dancing and twirling through snowy winter scenes.

Next came everyone’s favourite part: glitter! A generous sprinkle transformed the paintings into shimmering winter artworks, full of sparkle, texture, and colour. The results were truly eye-catching and magical.

Later in the session, the workshop art leader painted a striking two-metre-long banner spelling out “January.” One of the residents proudly added the finishing touches by sprinkling even more glitter across the banner. Displayed on the wall alongside 2026, it made a bold and joyful statement – a creative launch into the new year that we won’t forget!
